[Letter] 1859 Jan. 11, University of Va. to [John Albert Broadus] / Margaret S. Swann. 1859.

Swann was caring for Broadus's daughters while he was away, having remarried. Said that she had forgotten to write, but "Aunt Somer" [Somerville Broadus, J.A. Broadus's stepmother, who lived with the family until her death] told her that if "I write tonight, you'll receive my letter before you leave Alexandria. Annie [daughter Annie Harrison] is very well, is almost free from her cough. She is now fast asleep. Lida [daughter Eliza Somerville] has not yet retired, sends much love. Aunt Somer joins also in much love to Lottie and yourself." John A. Broadus married Charlotte E. Sinclair, affectionately known as "Lottie", his second wife, Jan. 4, 1859.
